Frequently asked questions

When will I receive confirmation of my appointment?

Once you have submitted all required documents, the CARP will issue a recommendation to the Dean, and the Dean will approve your application. You will then receive an offer letter.

Upon receiving the offer letter, you must accept it by returning it to Udani Perera with your signature. After that, the department will provide a final confirmation of your appointment.

If I am a locum, do I still need a Clinical Faculty appointment?

No, unless your locum term is long-term (beyond 6 months). However, if you wish to have a Clinical Faculty appointment, you can request for one.

If I have another active clinical faculty appointment with UBC, what do I need to know?

If you have another active appointment with UBC, you can request to become an Associate Member of the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Associate Member is an unofficial position given to a faculty member when there is a need for members of one department to have a connection with another department, but when a joint appointment is not possible.

Can I provide a bio for the Emergency Medicine Clinical Faculty website?
