Faculty members with an active Clinical Faculty appointment at UBC are not eligible for a second Clinical Faculty appointment in another department. However, they can still teach across departments under their existing appointment.
If a faculty member wishes to establish a formal affiliation with the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM), they have two options:
Transfer to DEM
If their primary teaching responsibilities are with DEM and they want it to be their main department, they can transfer their appointment from their current department to DEM. This process requires resigning from the existing appointment only after their application to DEM is successfully approved.
