The Lions Gate Hospital Research Program was established in 2005 and is currently headed by Gary Andolfatto. LGH has been active in the field of procedural sedation and analgesia and has produced several high-quality publications including a recent randomized double-blind trial comparing ketofol to propofol. Other areas of interest include adverse event screening, trauma and venous thromboembolism.
Current projects include intra-nasal ketamine for analgesia , treatment of deep vein thrombosis, and quality of life assessment following procedural sedation and analgesia. As well, a collaborative project with Harvard Children’s Hospital and Albert Einstein Hospital (Philadelphia) is ongoing examining physiologic changes during procedural sedation.
