Come participate in a free public forum: Social Media for Health – Feb 4th

Dear Department colleagues:

I would like to invite you to participate in a free forum (more info in the attachment), organized by UBC eHealth Strategy Office together with nursing, business, engineering and Library science, on a very timely topic of interest to ourselves and our patients:

Title: Social Media for Health: The Good, The Bad, The Possible
Location: UBC Robson Square, Downtown Vancouver
Date: February 4th, 2013
Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Registration (optional) http://harnessingthesocialweb.eventbrite.ca

There is a great line up of speakers, including Dr. Eysenbach, the father of Medicine 2.0 movement, Ms. Ana Lucia Ruggiero, knowledge management expert at the Pan American Health Organization, and Dean Guistini from our Faculty Health Library and well known blogger, together with a panel from Business, Engineering, Nursing and Medicine.

Facilitated by Ms. Gillian Shaw, the technology writer from Vancouver Sun, this session will be highly interactive and engage the audience to share best social media sites for health, how they are being used, and where we need to go together to co-create a better future to support people’s health and wellness. Having physicians’ perspectives and input will be highly important.

Thank you very much for considering this invitation.

Best regards,
Kendall
