Dr. Michael Asamoah-Boaheng, DEM Postdoctoral Fellow, has won the 2024 Killam Postdoctoral Fellow Research Prize for his excellent research on vaccination strategies and the effects of COVID-19 on paramedics. He is one of only two recipients on campus and will receive a $5,000 award. His work includes analyzing data from the COVID-19 Occupational Risks, Seroprevalence and Immunity among Paramedics (CORSIP) study and the BC Cardiac Arrest Registry, leading to several publications in respected journals.
Dr. Brian Grunau, DEM Assistant Professor and the supervisor of Dr. Asamoah-Boaheng, commends, “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Michael during his postdoctoral fellowship. He is a brilliant epidemiologist who takes the time to understand the key clinical gaps in knowledge and employs innovative statistical models to effectively address clinically relevant questions that impact patient care.”
Congratulations Dr. Asamoah-Boaheng!
