Dr. Devon Mitchell Elected President of the Resident Doctors BC 2021-22

We are proud to share that UBC RCPSC-EM Resident, Dr. Devon Mitchell was elected president of the Resident Doctors of BC for the 2021/2022 year in August.

Resident Doctors of BC is a professional association representing 1500 resident doctors working throughout British Columbia. The association raises awareness about residents and what they do as well as representing residents in their relationship with UBC, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.

Dr. Mitchell completed his undergrad and medical school at the University of British Columbia, and he is now completing his residency in Emergency Medicine at UBC. He is based mainly at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) in Vancouver.

As president, Dr. Mitchell will represent BC medical residents as they head into a contract negotiation year. He will guide them as they continue to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their academic, professional and personal lives.
