On behalf of Drs. Caroline Tyson and Helen Ross (site directors for the DEM Fraser and Victoria sites respectively), I would like to announce that the RCPSC accreditation team has recommended full approval of the Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program (site visit Nov 20, 2013), with a regular survey again in 6 years.
The formal written report which lists the strengths and weaknesses will not arrive until March 2014, as this preliminary decision needs to be formally approved by the Royal College in Ottawa. We are very appreciative of the support from all faculty in the DEM, and would also like to add a special note of thanks to Mira Pandya for all of her work in the preparation and arrangements for the accreditation.
